Psychotherapy

“Serenity” by Harry Brioche - www.forestgallery.com/harry-brioche/

Psychotherapy and counselling are similar things, but psychotherapy seeks to offer a deeper and sometimes more long term exploration of how our life is going and how we experience ourselves in our bodies, our emotions, our work, and our relationships with each other and the world.

Quite often people seek out a therapist when they are fed up with feeling depressed or sad or anxious . When they have noticed patterns in their personal and professional relationships which they don’t like or which cause discomfort in day to day living. Sometimes friends or family might point out that things have become difficult. Sometimes my clients have begun to feel unfulfilled or frustrated. Life feels restricted or stifling or frightening in some way. We might be experiencing physical symptoms which are baffling or unclear or which have no obvious cause. Primarily psychotherapy is seen as a talking therapy but while we are talking interesting things begin to happen…

  • "Willy Loman never made a lot of money. His name was never in the paper. He is not the finest character who ever lived. But he’s a human being and a terrible thing is happening to him. So attention must be paid . He’s not to be allowed to fall into his grave like an old dog. Attention, attention must finally be paid to such a person"
